THE DOJO
THE TRANSLATION

Karate Training and Body Development

It's not hard to work out that it is a training hall designated for martial arts. However the translation of Dojo is the "Place of the Way" or "The Way-Place".

When you come to training in the Dojo you need to be mindful of a few things;

•   Karate is a state of mind.
•   Karate is not only exercise, nor is it just sport or a fitness programme.
•   So when you arrive or as you prepare for training purify your mind.

Prepare yourself by being persistence and overcome difficulties through diligent training.
Remove from your mind all those things that distract - unwanted thoughts empty your mind during practice and training by harmonising breath and action.
The Dojo is for all members' trainers and students alike and needs to be treated as a very special place where the human spirit you're sprit can be tempered and polished.

Your behaviour inside the Dojo

•   The Dojo - Is a special place for you and others personal development.
•   Respect for Sensei and his team.
•   Respect for other Students.
•   Respect for yourself and the training.

The Maxims of Training

•   Be proud to study the way of Shihan Frank.
•   Alway be courteous in manners.
•   Strive to develop courage and fighting spirit.
•   Let us cultivate fellowship and understanding.
•   Respect the ideals of loyalty and honour and tradition from times past.
